The Concordia Film Festival has a lot to offer today. Free conferences and roundtable discussions starting 12:30 p.m., followed by screenings: Pose to Pose (Animations I&II) at 7 p.m. and Frame by Frame (Animation III) at 9 p.m. Imperial Cinema (1430 Bleury), festival pass $25/$5 regular screening

The MTL Acapella festival begins today and runs through Sunday, presenting 400 singers, five pro beatboxers, 26 choirs singing jazz, classical, chanson française, to gospel and more. Théâtre Paradoxe (5959 Monk), $20/day or $35 for the weekend, $15/person for groups of six or more, free for kids under 10

Owen Pallett (a member of Arcade Fire, and formerly known as Final Fantasy) and his band preview material from his forthcoming record, In Conflict, with opener Doldrums. La Sala Rossa (4848 St-Laurent), 9 p.m., $20/$23 

The Smiffs (members of Suuns) play the music of the Smiths, with DJ Noah Bick spinning all nite. Il Motore (179 Jean-Talon W.),9 p.m., $5/$10/PWYC

Underground film series the NOAH screens Kiss! Meets the Phantom of the Park and throws a party with music, amusement park snacks and more. Rumour has it this is the NOAH’s final screening. 6029a Parc, 9 p.m.

Rappers Styles P, Sheek Louch and Jadakiss play Canada for the first time together as the Lox, with support from Peter Jackson and his band the Knicks, Kwite Sane and DJ Kidd. Arena (2313 Ste-Catherine W.), 9 p.m., $30

Keep rockin’ it old-school at the third edition of mega-’90s bash Chocolate Jungle, promising the baddest jams, flyest outfits, hypest host and craziest dancers. Le Belmont (4483 St-Laurent), 10 p.m., $10 in advance/$20 at the door
