The Montreal GeekFest invites you once again to celebrate Tabletop gaming in all its forms, but also to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the mythical show that is Doctor Who. Hotel Espresso (1005 Guy), 10 a.m., $10/$15

Peace Park, one of the city’s pre-eminent skate spots, marks 19 years on the scene with cake, beer, performances by Full Course and Mr. Wright, a skate contest and more. St-Laurent and Juliette Béliveau (just north of René-Levesque), 2–6 p.m., free

To help Haiyan typhoon victims, Marc Lamothe (aka DJ XL5) has organized two fundraising screenings. He’ll be screening his Filipino Zappin’ Party, a tribute to ‘70s genre cinema from the Philippines, and On the Job, a Filipino police drama. J.A. de Sève Cinema (1400 de Maisonneuve W.), 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., $10 or more

Local singer-songwriter Bones Malones launches a new record, Bawl n’ Change, with opener les Deuxluxes. Cabaret du Mile End (5240 Parc), 7 p.m., $5/$10 w/ CD

Women of Country present a Crooner’s Christmas, wherein local singers and musicians cover holiday classics made famous by Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. All proceeds go to Dans la Rue. Théâtre Ste-Catherine (264 Ste-Catherine E.), 8 p.m., $20/$15 if you bring three or more non-perishable food items

Among the glut of shows happening on this closing night of the M for Montreal music fest, Young Galaxy, Thundercat, Avec le Soleil Sortant de sa Bouche and the M for Midnight soul-DJ dance party are highlights.
