Filmmakers looking to fine tune their skills can head to Pub l’île Noire for a three-hour workshop presented by Eric Falardeau. It’s happy hour all night at Casa del Popolo, where DJ László will be manning the decks at his monthly Décadence Électronique, a night of vintage electronic and synth sounds. 4873 St-Laurent, 9 p.m.

The Fantasia film festival presents Rated “X”: A Night with Bryan Singer director of The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil and of course the upcoming X:Men Days of Future Past. The 60-minute discussion will take place with moderator Tony Timpone and the audience. Imperial Theatre (1432 Bleury), 9:30 p.m., free (limited seats)
