Trigger Effect, tonight at Il Motore

Well, it’s officially summer, as beloved seasonal biergarten Alexanderplatz reopens today. 6731 Esplanade, 4 p.m.–1 a.m.

Font enthusiasts should check out the vernissage for Letterform, a series of prints by Jason Urban exploring alphabetical shapes. Monastiraki (5478 St-Laurent), 6 p.m.

T.O. live painter Jessica Gorlicky (aka JessGO) will be present and painting at the vernissage for Through the Looking Glass. Galerie 203 (203 Notre-Dame W.), 7–11 p.m., free

Wyrd IV, the fourth installment of Weird Canada’s travelling series, happens at Casa del Popolo, with a collab between Jennifer Castle and Wyrd Visions, the Zachary Fairbrother Feedback Guitar Orchestra, Soul Sisters Supreme Redux 2.0 (with Isla Craig) and the High Dukes. 4873 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., $10/$12

Local dudes Trigger Effect launch their latest album, What’s Left to Eliminate?, alongside the BCASA and Hopeless Youth, at Il Motore. 179 Jean-Talon W., 9 p.m., $10/$15 with CD/$20 with vinyl 

François Dupré, the skate stalwart known as Frenchy, is premiering Street Like That, his latest skate video, at TRH-Bar, that new spot with the wooden bowl in it. 3699 St-Laurent, 10 p.m.

There’s a stack of rap DJ nights happening à soir, from Velvet to the unlikeliest of venues, Piranha Bar. Cabaret Underworld is a good bet: Rolling Stoned has Vincent Pryce, Tronald Trump, Compton Chic and Klye, for your pleasure. 1403 Ste-Elisabeth, 11 p.m., free before 11:30 p.m./$5
