Dream Affair, tonight at Katacombes

The Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois wraps up soon. Take what may be your last opportunity for a while to see these films on the big screen: moving 21st-century teen drama Roméo Onze (Quartier Latin, 350 Emery, 5:45 p.m., $10) and/or Kim Nguyen’s Oscar-nominated Rebelle (Quartier Latin, 7:45, $10)

Local filmmaker Jean-Philippe Tremblay’s Shadows of Liberty, a documentary exposé on corporate control of the media, opens at Cinéma du Parc. 3575 Parc, 9:15 p.m., $11.50

Brooklyn’s Dream Affair, along with Tiers, Automelodi and Police des moeurs, play Permanent Wave Vol. 6 down at Katacombes. 1635 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., $8

En Cachette marks one year with DJ Godfather D behind the decks, along with a live set by Shaharah and Soulvation. 1765 St-Denis, 11 p.m., $5

Mouse on Mars, Femminielli, Noir and DJ CFCF will be at Il Motore for what one Cult MTL critic says will be a “myopic nerd-fest,” presumably of the most entertaining sort. 179 Jean-Talon W., 9 p.m., $18 in advance, $20 at the door
