This week was a big one for Quebec’s students. The province’s long-awaited summit on higher education went down, with the Parti Québécois tabling a plan to index tuition by three per cent, or about $70, per year. After the summit closed, the Association pour un solidarité syndicate étudiante, popularly known as ASSÉ, led a protest that drew an estimated 5,000-10,000 demonstrators to the streets. When it was all said and done, there were 13 arrests. Check out these photos by Cindy Lopez for a glimpse of what happened. ■
