Shakti Rising – Honoring our Stories

Friday, May 10 , 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

C’est une performance artistique interculturelle et hakti Rising – Honoring our Stories explores the cultural, political, and spiritual aspects surrounding the life cycles of two women, represented by Mother Earth. This powerful dance story is a unique collaboration between Indian and Indigenous dance and music.

It is an intercultural and multilingual artistic performance that follows the journey of two women in today’s world.

Ancestral knowledge, profound life experiences, and issues related to marginalized and Indigenous communities, are brought to light through six powerful dance pieces.

This deep collaborative journey through Mother Earth is expressed with courage and power, through the feminine strength and wisdom. Dancing through periods of joy, challenges, and triumph; a path of solidarity, hope, and love is created. We invite the audience to join us on this heartfelt journey.

Shakti Renaît – Honorer nos histoires is created and directed by Indian dancer Amrita Choudhury and produced by Amrita Dance Creations.
This performance is in collaboration with Indigenous artist Barbara Diabo.
