Lecture by Alain Deneault. Ethics Between Globalization and Bioregions

VOX is honoured to welcome philosopher Alain Deneault in conjunction with the exhibition Mon Sud est ton Nord. Entitled Ethics Between Globalization and Bioregions, this lecture will explore some of the socio-economic issues underlying Bertille Bak’s video installations.

Alain Deneault is a Québécois philosopher with a doctorate in philosophy from the Université Paris-VIII. He was a program director at the Collège international de philosophie in Paris from 2016 to 2022. He is currently a professor at the Shippagan campus of the Université de Moncton on the Acadian Peninsula.

He has published numerous essays, notably on Canadian mining policies, tax havens, multinationals, the sovereignty of private powers and the history of the polysemous notion of the economy. His latest essay Faire que ! L’engagement politique à l’ère de l’inouï, published by Lux Éditeur, was released on October 3, 2024 in North America.
