L’ANTRE D’EUX

Thursday, May 29 8 p.m. to Sunday, Jun 8 4 p.m.

AT TOHU FROM MAY 29 TO JUNE 8, 2025 L’ANTRE D’EUX A creation by Nicolas Boivin-Gravel The graduating cohort of the National Circus School takes to the stage at TOHU from May 29 to June 8, 2025, with its annual show, L’antre d’eux. Tightwire, juggling, Cyr wheel, Chinese pole, German wheel, Korean teeterboard, diabolo, aerial hoop, flying rope — a new generation of dazzlingly talented artists shines in the electrifying direction of Nicolas Boivin-Gravel. A must-see event, praised by families and circus enthusiasts alike, this show offers a first glimpse of 22 artists ready to take on the world’s greatest stages.   L’antre d’eux 22 graduating artists transform TOHU into an all-encompassing playground — raw, confrontational, explosive, luminous. Solo, duo, or as a pack: each act is a celebration of identity, mastery, and acrobatic expression. The space is fully taken over — bleachers, walkways, backstage — everything becomes a living canvas. Audiences step into a festive purgatory, a bold and theatrical ritual where manipulation, laughter, and time-bending moments intertwine in loops and suspended silences. This show will shake the room, the bodies — and most of all, the souls. Between dystopian overconsumption, androgynous softness and raw energy, L’antre d’eux pulses with a collective urgency: to celebrate circus as a total, free form of expression. They are only 22. Yet they are everywhere. And their time is now.   About Nicolas Boivin-Gravel Nicolas Boivin-Gravel is an acrobatic designer, director, and former circus artist. A graduate of the National Circus School in juggling, where he later taught for ten years, he also holds a certificate in innovation management from HEC Montréal. He has collaborated with prestigious institutions such as 7 Doigts de la main, Cavalia, and Théâtre du Nouveau Monde. He co-founded the company Throw2Catch and has held key positions at Cirque Éloize, from head coach to creative director. Actively involved in advancing the circus community, he serves on several boards including En Piste, Marguerite à Bicyclette, and Les Deux de Pique. His creative practice merges innovation, discipline, and scenic poetry, making him a key figure in contemporary Quebec circus arts. With enthusiasm, he returns to the National Circus School to direct the end-of-year show L’antre d’eux, alongside a cohort ready to soar onto the global circus stage.
