The Magic Box

Bowl a strike, support a good cause and eat some grey matter this afternoon. Bowling for Brains: A Zombie Bowl-a-thon for Sex Ed supports local non-profit Head and Hands and provides a couple games of living-dead bowling and entry into a draw for prizes. Those wishing to become “zombified” can attend a make-up session from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. at a cost of $5-$10, depending on the level of facial decomp requested. Head out to Nouveau Palais for an evening of gourmet dogs served up by Chaud Dogs with wine pairings by Oenopole. 281 Bernard, 6:30 p.m.–11:30 p.m.

Le Cinéclub: The Film Society screens the classic 1951 John Boulting film The Magic Box, the fascinating story of William Friese-Greene and his lifelong struggle to develop a “moving picture camera”. Cinéma VA-114 (1395 René-Lévesque W.), 7 p.m.
