According to 338Canada, the Liberals are now projected to win a majority in the next federal election.

A new study by the Angus Reid Institute study finds that 90% of new Liberal voters say they have a negative opinion of Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre. Half of former Conservatives cite Poilievre as the factor that drove them away from the CPC.

Angus Reid also finds that net favourability of Pierre Poilievre has reached an all-time low of -24%. Just 35% of Canadians have a positive opinion of the Conservative Party of Canada leader; his unfavourability sits at an all-time high of 59%.

Conversely, 55% of Canadians have a positive opinion of Liberal leader Mark Carney, whose net favourability sits at +19% — 43 points higher than that of Pierre Poilievre.

The study also found that Carney leads Pierre Poilievre by 28 points as the best candidate to handle Trump’s trade war.

The fact remains that Pierre Poilievre is divisive, rubs most Canadians the wrong way and a large majority don’t want to see him become prime minister.

As a result, support for the Conservatives will continue to decrease as the next election approaches.
