Mont-Royal Avenue commercial vacancy rate down from 14.5% to 5.6% since pedestrianization

“Pedestrianization on Mont-Royal Avenue has been a great success!”

Since the pedestrianization of the street in summertime began in 2018, the vacancy rate of commercial spaces on Mont-Royal Avenue has gone from 14.5% to 5.6%, a reduction of 8.9%. Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante shared the news, praising the success of the Plateau’s commercial artery.

“Since the pedestrianization, the avenue is more dynamic and busy than ever and business is good. A great success!”
