Today’s Montreal Pride Parade cancelled due to security concerns

Fierté Montreal Pride has announced that the annual Pride Parade, scheduled for this afternoon, has been cancelled over security concerns.

“A lack of sufficient personnel to ensure security along the route has forced the organizers to cancel the event in agreement with the SPVM.”

Organizers are instead encouraging those who were planning to attend the parade to instead gather at the Olympic Park Esplanade, where Pride events have been happening over the past four days, at 2 p.m.
