Osheaga has issued an apology over Slowthai’s swastika T-shirt

Osheaga released an apology this morning after one of the performers at the weekend festival, British rapper Slowthai, came out on stage wearing a T-shirt with a swastika on it, but one that — as Osheaga pointed out — denounces the Nazi regime.

“A performer appeared on stage Saturday wearing a controversial T-shirt displaying a swastika that caused confusion. The T-shirt denounces the regime. We sincerely apologize to anyone who may have misinterpreted this message and felt hurt.”

The video below shows Slowthai performing in the T-shirt, which says ”Destroy,” with the nazi symbol below.
