New country music festival LASSO Montreal will be back in 2023 on Aug. 18 & 19

This year’s festival drew 35,000 attendees, 20% of whom travelled to the festival from outside Quebec.

LASSO Montreal, the city’s new country music festival, which took place this weekend at Parc Jean-Drapeau, has confirmed that the festival will return in 2023, on Aug. 18 and 19.

According to Evenko, the inaugural edition of the festival drew 35,000 attendees, 20% of whom travelled to the festival from outside Quebec.

Playing at the festival was Montreal’s Brittany Kennell, as well as other Canadian acts including Sara Dufour, Tenille Townes and Five Roses. Headliners included Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan, whose festival-closing set on Sunday night was introduced by the Canadiens’ Nick Suzuki.

Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante congratulated the festival on their first edition, saying, ”We are very happy to welcome a new country festival to Montreal.”
