The Premier made unspecific comments about restoring order following Tuesday’s shootings.

In response to two fatal shootings that took place in Montreal on Tuesday, Quebec Premier François Legault met virtually with the province’s Public Security Minister Geneviève Guilbault and Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante to discuss an action plan to reduce gun violence in the city.

“We will not skimp on the means to restore order and protect citizens. We will support our police forces to put an end to this violence.

Plante held a press conference on Wednesday to discuss measures that the SPVM is planning to put into place in an attempt to counter gun violence.
