Montreal restaurateur Chanthy Yen is now Justin Trudeau’s personal chef

A loss for the local food scene, a win for Rideau Cottage.

Renowned Montreal chef and restaurateur Chanthy Yen has a new gig outside of the public sphere, as the personal chef for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at his Rideau Cottage residence in Ottawa. Yen officially started the new gig on Dec. 13.

Yen is well known in Montreal for his restaurant Fieldstone, his post as executive chef at Parliament (the Old Montreal gastro-pub, not the House of Commons) and his popular pandemic pop-up Touk, which specialized in Cambodian street food.
