François Legault real Quebecer

Despite a turbulent month and a half, the CAQ is still up 22 points in the polls

The pandemic and the unpopular restrictions that came with it haven’t put much of a damper on the CAQ.

A new poll by Léger has found that François Legault and the CAQ are still up 22 points in the polls, with 42% support. The CAQ is down just four points from when the previous Léger poll was done in December, and still 5 points higher than at the time of the election in 2018. The Quebec Liberal Party is currently polling in second place, with 20% support, down 5 points from 2018.

The Conservative Party of Quebec is the only party to have gained support since December, increasing 6 points to 11% support.

The next provincial election in Quebec is scheduled for the fall of 2022.

A recent Léger poll also found that satisfaction with Legault’s handling of the pandemic is at an all-time low.
