Canada expands lockdown support eligibility to all businesses with capacity limits

“We need to do what it takes so Canadians are protected and have what they need to weather the storm.”

Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau has just announced that eligibility for two key support programs is being expanded to all businesses subject to capacity limits due to provincial restrictions. Trudeau confirmed that those in the culture, hospitality and tourism industries will be eligible to receive additional support from the Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit and Local Lockdown Program.

“We are temporarily expanding eligibility for key programs. For the Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit and the Local Lockdown Program, you’ll be able to apply if you’re subject to capacity limiting restrictions.”

Justin Trudeau also confirmed that the federal government will be delivering hundreds of thousands of rapid tests across the country in the coming weeks.
