Valérie Plante to LGBTQ2IA+ Community: “I will always be your ally”

Montréal Mayor Valerie Plante has released a statement celebrating the start of International LGBTQ2IA+ Pride Month. The mayor commented on the inspiring journey taken by this community, referring to herself as their ally.

“International LGBTQ2IA + Pride Month begins and I want to highlight the inspiring journey this community has taken. I send all my support to the people on that journey and for the road that remains to be covered. I will always be your ally.”

While the local LGBTQ2IA+ community marks International Pride, Montreal Pride takes place in August. The 2021 edition of the festival is scheduled for Aug. 9–15.
