It seems as if the empire that is Top Dawg Entertainment may finally be seeing an end to their hot streak. The label’s newest signee, Lance Skiiiwalker, is a Chicago-born singer best known for his features on recent Schoolboy Q and Jay Rock LPs. While the album is by no means bad, Skiiiwalker lacks the caliber of his powerhouse peers. Introverted Intuition is moody, melodic and at times feels more like a demo than a fully formed album, with many of its tracks sounding somewhat incomplete. The singer nails an eerie aesthetic with haunting vocals over chill, minimalistic beats, and although this is somewhat redeeming and shows potential, Skiiiwalker should have ultimately taken more time to perfect this body of work before introducing himself to the world. 6/10 Trial Track: “Attraction” (Mr. Wavvy)
