The sixth edition of Fashion Preview, a three-day series of fashion shows from local clothing and accessories designers, begins tonight at UQAM’s Agora Hydro-Québec. In Hochelaga, Insurgent Projections and CKUT 90.3FM copresent a screening of Jim Jarmusch’s classic 1986 film Down by Law to raise funds for CKUT’s Prison Radio Show — see details about the film and the program here. Downtown skate and streetwear boutique Off the Hook launch a second location tonight inside Old Montreal’s newly opened William Gray boutique hotel (also home to Café Olimpico’s first satellite location) and they’re throwing a party to celebrate with tunes by DJs Nicky Raisinz and Cosmo. Grab your bingo dauber and head to NDQ for a fundraising edition of Notre Dame de Bingo (hosted by Julie Paquet) with proceeds going to Montreal’s New Skids on the Block roller derby team to help get them to Portland, Oregon to compete in this November’s WFTDA championship tournament.
