Stop by your favourite comic book shops across town for today’s worldwide Free Comic Book Day and pick up a totally free comic book from a wide variety of titles, plus special guests and other surprises at shops like Drawn & Quarterly (211 Bernard W., 10 a.m.–8 p.m.) and Crossover Comics (3560 Notre-Dame W., 11 a.m.–6 p.m.)

Archive Montreal (organizers of Expozine) is one of the major partners presenting today’s GRANDE Print Art Fair, with over 60 artists, designers and collectives who create posters and printed art exhibiting and selling their prints, plus an afternoon round-table discussion on printmaking. 5445 de Gaspé #102, 11 a.m.–6 p.m., free

Get set for spring with multi-label pop-up shop at Godberd featuring collections from Atelier Wonder, Blessed Poppy, Lafaille and Laugh plus tattoos, nail art and a visual art expo. 2050 Joly, 12–9 p.m., free

Check out the launch party for gluten-free/allergen-free eatery la Table en Bois, timed with food allergy awareness week and celiac awareness month. The event will offer safe organic snacks — minus the top nine allergens: peanuts, tree nuts, seafood, eggs, dairy, sesame, soy, wheat and mustard — and, on the family-friendly tip, free t-shirts for kids, a craft corner and story time. 5830 St-Laurent, 1:30–5:30 p.m.

Conundrum Press was founded in Montreal by publisher Andy Brown 20 years ago, and today he’s back in town to launch 20×20, a book of excerpts and reflections from 20 of the writers and artists who’ve risen from Canada’s vibrant underground art scene with a little help from Conundrum.
