Halloween party in the spring

The spring edition of Restaurant Day is on, bringing pop-up restaurants and food stands to parks, alleyways and sidewalks all over town. Among the largely amateur participants is at least one pro, Malaysian/Thai chef Nantha Kumar, a regular on the Best of MTL Best Chef list. Check Restaurant Day’s website for all the pop-up locations.

It’s day two of Chromatic, the immersive arts festival taking place for the first time at the Old Port’s Hangar 16. The site is open from 11 a.m. today and tomorrow for exhibitions, workshops and other activities, with live music and DJs beginning at 8 p.m. — tonight’s line-up features Noo-Bap, Kenlo, Naadei, GrandBuda and Shash’U.  360 de la Commune E., 11 a.m.–11 p.m., runs through Sunday

Head to la Plante for 11 hours of underground and experimental music programming at the No Exist No Fest, featuring performances from the Powers, Gambletron, Ylang Ylang & Ashley Obscura, Klondike, Così e Così and much more. Secret location, 3 p.m.–2 a.m., PWYC afternoon, $5 evening, $10 after 9 p.m.

Never Apart presents a celebration of wearable art and performance with Wiggle, featuring an avant-garde variety show in which performers have fashioned their own wigs and headpieces. The annual event has a 20-year-long history in cities from Vancouver to Detroit, and comes to Montreal for the first time with performances from artists like New York’s Joey Arias, Tranna Wintour, Guizo LaNuit, DJ Frankie Teardrop and more. 7049 St-Urbain, 7 p.m., $15

Black Dot hosts a show at la Sala Rossa to raise funds for the building of a library in the troubled Attawapiskat First Nation of northern Ontario, featuring Motorkiller, Effet Werther, Spectral Wound and more. 4848 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., $5–$10 suggested donation

Parc Ex art space the Long Haul (aka le Corrid’art) is hosting a Halloween-in-the-spring fundraising party tonight — Long Hauloween — featuring the Scary Monsters & Super Creeps art exhibition by 30 artists, a loading dock dance party with DJ SUBLIMNIPL, mobile Jello-Shot vendors, video projections and more. 450/454 Beaumont, 9 p.m., $10 with a costume/$12 w/out
