High Highs

Enjoy the MMFA’s current exhibition on Pompeii with more than 200 archaeological artifacts from the Roman Empire-era village that was famously doomed by a volcanic eruption, with half-price admission at tonight’s Aperitivo Pompeii featuring a special Italian cocktail menu and treats like maple popcorn. 1380 Sherbrooke W., 5–9 p.m., $10

Concordia design students have organized a pop-up sale that doubles as a fundraiser and awareness event for Chez Doris and St-James, day centres for women and men in difficulty. All items for sale —  including personal care products, tote bags, headbands, lunch totes, slippers, travel bags and animal shaped pillows — are handmade and sustainable, two more reasons to feel good about shopping. FOFA Gallery (1515 Ste-Catherine W.), 2–5:30 p.m.

Filipino restaurant Junior is cooking up their version of L.A. street food tonight, with a side of tunes by DJ Toddy Flores — check out Tacos and 45s. 1964 Notre-Dame W., 5:30 p.m.

Fresh Paint Gallery hosts Art for Humanity, a one-night exhibition and fundraiser for SPHR Concordia (Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights) where proceeds will go towards EmpowerGAZA, an organization that installs solar panels on Gaza hospitals. Participating artists include 123Klan, Chris Dyer, MC Baldassari, Jason Botkin, Futur Lasor Now, Starchild Stela, Sundus Abdul Hadi, Monk.E, Kevin Ledo, and many more. 250 Ste-Catherine E., 6–10 p.m., free entry, donations encouraged

3 Women, the trio of lady film buffs who are presenting a series of “hysteria”-themed films (ie. those depicting women with mental health struggles) at le Ritz, are back with a screening of the 1977 Robert Altman film that inspired their name. Altman’s 3 Women tells the story of complicated female friendships against a small-town desert backdrop. 179 Jean-Talon W., 7 p.m., $5 donation suggested (proceeds will be donated to Montreal women’s shelter Logifem)

Australian dream-pop band High Highs play la Sala Rossa tonight — get in promptly for locals Secret Sun. 4848 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., $15/$17
