German audiovisual installation artist and musician (and creator of Ableton Live) Robert Henke is in town this week and will be giving a lecture at McGill’s CIRMMT on computer based music production. 527 Sherbrooke W., 4:30 p.m., free

Head to the McCord Museum for the launch party for the annual digital art festival Printemps Numériques. The event promises virtual reality, lightsaber battles, music by Dead Horse Beats and access to the McCord’s exhibition with Algonquin artist Nadia Myre. 690 Sherbrooke W., 5–9 p.m., $20/$16 in advance includes one drink, free for museum members

Parisian Laundry hosts a vernissage for two new exhibitions, including the minimalist architectural sculpture work of Alexandre David in D’un objet à l’autre and colourful pop sculptures from Toronto-based artist Jaime Angelopoulos. 3550 St-Antoine W., 6–9 p.m., free

Montreal Improv presents (for one night only) Silver Ladies, a tribute to the sassy 1980s seniors of The Golden Girls. The cast, including Alex Brown, D. J. Mausner and Lar V,i will take suggestions from the audience and explore the bonds of women’s friendships. 3697 St-Laurent, 8:30 p.m., $8

Straight outta Tokyo, house/techno DJ Chida brings the skills from the hot Japanese scene to Datcha, where Von Party will warm up and cool down the floor. 98 Laurier W., 11 p.m.
