Ice conditions are reported to be excellent, and skate, ski, snowshoe and sliding tube rentals are available throughout the day. Trash Ton Karaoké throws its pre-New Year’s party at Piranha Bar tonight, with a staggering list of 55,000 songs you won’t find at most karaoke nights — punk, metal, industrial, indie rock, glam rock, new wave, franco as well as pop from the 1950’s through the ’90s. 680 Ste-Catherine W., 9 p.m., free
