Montreal NYE

If you’re itching to go out but are still at a loss for where to spend your party fund tonight, we have 35 pretty great suggestions in our curated New Year’s Eve Party Guide (and many of them are inexpensive — some are even free).

CKUT’s Venus Radio — which ranks in our Best of MTL readers poll annually — is presenting a year-end edition of their show featuring their favourite tunes of 2015. 90.3FM/http://ckut.ca/en, 12–2 p.m.

Toast the end of 2015 at your favourite Mile End diner, the casual but kinda upscale Nouveau Palais, serving a special three-course meal ($35) as well as everything from their standard menu. See the NYE menu here. 281 Bernard W., from 5 p.m.

To check table availability at dozens of Montreal restaurants, check Open Table, but be aware that only a fraction of local eateries (the ones that pay for the service) are listed on this site. For reasonable prices, try calling your favourite neighbourhood spot to see if you can still make a reservation.

Finnish techno producer Mono Junk (Kim Rapatti) makes his North American debut with a New Year’s bash at 820Plaza tonight that also features DJs from record labels Temple and Booma. 6820 Marconi, 11 p.m., $25/$20 in advance, BYOB

After the clock strikes twelve, suit up for a venue change and head to Frankie Teardrop’s queer-positive all-nighter LIP NYE, which will also feature J’vlyn D’ark and Kaz Kandy. Location TBA, check event page later today for details, 12–6 a.m., $10 before 3:30 a.m., $15 after, BYOB
