Amy-Winehouse

Nearly a week before its July 10 release at Cinéma Excentris (and July 17 at Cinéma du Parc), Amy will premiere as part of the Jazz Festival.

The guardian describes the film, by British director Asif Kapadia, as “a documentary that chronicles Winehouse’s tragic decline from bright-eyed prodigy to doomed tabloid obsession. Assembled from 100 interviews and incorporating 20 months of editing in a process that took three years in total, the film presents what feels like a true version of events. It is also incredibly moving.”

The premiere will take place at a downtown Montreal movie theatre on Saturday, July 4 at 7 p.m.

For a chance to win one of five double passes, simply email info@cultmontreal.com with “Amy” in the subject line, any time before 11:59 p.m. on June 30. On July 1, a winner will be chosen at random and contacted by email before noon.

Good luck! ■
