The Beatles in Japan (640x414)
The Beatles in Japan

Cineplex presents its annual Digital Film Festival, showcasing fan favorites on the big screen. Today, you can catch Sam Raimi’s Darkman, Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner (The Final Cut), Warren Beatty’s Dick Tracy and family classics The Monster Squad and The Rocketeer. They’re digital prints, but I’m betting you won’t get to see The Monster Squad at the Cinémathèque anytime soon. Check out the Cineplex website for more info and showtimes.

BBAM! Gallery is screening 16MM prints of the 1966 film Beatles in Japan plus Ferry Cross the Mersey (1965), starring the band behind that titular song (Gerry and the Pacemakers). 3255 St-Jacques W., 7 p.m. $10

Studio 303 returns to its cabaret roots and pits art against the status quo with tonight’s Cabaret Tollé at Sala Rossa. Peaches LePage hosts the show, with a line-up of performers including Alexis O’Hara, Helen Simard, Hannah Morrow in a program that addresses major issues of the day from an anti-oppressive perspective. 4848 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., $10$20 PWYC

Get ready to dance all night long at the first #Nightowl party of the year with the Exiled, Vowels, In the Valley, Strangetown, Zepha and GAB3D, plus live artmaking by Nadine Samuel, M’Os Geez and Maxime Martle. 10 p.m.6 a.m., check the event page for location details.

The other party running till dawn is the inaugural edition of Durag Disco, with “the four horsemen of funk” Walla P, Guilty, Dr. Mad and Tronald Trump spinning funk, soul, rhythm, boogie and rare cuts. 7474 St-Hubert, 10 p.m.6 a.m., $5 before 11 p.m., $10 btwn 11 p.m. and 2 a.m./$15
