Odaya, performing at Cabaret la Tulipe tonight

Join cultural theorist Marc James Léger at Drawn & Quarterly for the launch of his new book, The Idea of the Avant Garde—And What It Means Today featuring contributions from over 50 authors, artists and intellectuals. 211 Bernard W., 7 p.m., free

As recommended in our political column Quebec Ink yesterday, The Gazette has organized a fundraiser for the Native Women’s Shelter and the Montreal Sexual Assault Centre under the banner #BeenRapedNeverReported. There will be a range of dance and music acts performing — see details at the bottom of this page. Cabaret la Tulipe (4530 Papineau), 7 p.m., $10

On an entirely different tip, the Wiggle Room’s Weird Ass Game Show goes down tonight (and every Thursday) with Walter J Lyng, Tranna Wintour and Seska Lee in the house. 3874 St-Laurent, 7:30 p.m., $10

Booking/management company Heavy Trip marks its first anniversary with a show at the Rialto’s Piccolo space featuring some of its biggest acts: Alaclair Ensemble, Duchess Says, Chocolat, Solids, DJ KenLo Craqnuques and Rawlove. 5723 Parc, 8 p.m., $15. (Enter a contest to win tickets to this show here.)

The other big show tonight is dance punk duo Death From Above 1979, with Phantogram and Biblical at Metropolis. 59 Ste-Catherine E., 8 p.m., $37/$42
