Even the cool shops are doing Black Friday

It’s not all appliances, electronics and apparel made in Bangladesh. Here’s what Montreal record, bike and homegrown clothing shops are offering this weekend.

black-friday

Black Friday is pretty much a bullshit excuse for panicky pre-Christimas consumerism in the States. Now that trend has crossed the border, mostly to keep Canadian shoppers from doing the same. And with Black Friday comes another edition of Record Store Day, and a long list of special releases to be sold exclusively on Friday, Nov. 28.

We’re not going to bother telling you what the big stores are doing, but here’s what to expect from Montreal vinyl merchants and a selection of clothing, accessory and bike boutiques — note that all sales are happening Friday unless otherwise noted.
