shineIt’s that time of year again where Canadians from coast coast to coast take pause and give gratitude for the fact that Monday is a stat holiday whether you’re a thankful believer or not. With the Thanksgiving long weekend comes many, many a party, to put us all in a mood of somber reflection for the impending debauchery of All Hallows Eve.
Here’s where you can shake a turkey leg this week.
Thursday: Kick it country-style with Big K.R.I.T. and guests Two-9, the Label of Creation and host DL Jones at Cabaret Underworld. K.R.I.T. gives love as hard live as he does on albums and mixtapes. You’ll be thankful you went. 1403 Ste-Elisabeth, 9 p.m., $35 (+$25 for meet ‘n’ greet upgrade)
At Blizzarts, MELT031 invites KenLo and his funk-ful offerings to the table. 3956 St-Laurent, 10 p.m.

Friday: Black Hippy Ab-Soul returns to Montreal by popular demand at le Petit Olympia with tour support from J Cole affiliate Bas and Earthgang. 1282 Amherst, 8 p.m., $35
Salon Daomé receives Maus and Gone DeVille for Danse Contact, with visuals by Van. 141 Mont-Royal E., 10 p.m., $7
And at Blue Dog, Vincent Pryce, Montrilla and Alex HQ get you in the mood with Sex Music. 3958 St-Laurent, 10 p.m., free
Saturday: Bass — how low can it go? Find out at Wobble Madness #2 with Crimewave and many more, at Studio Backstage. 1661 Ste-Catherine E., 10 p.m., $5 before 11 p.m./$10
But who knows? Maybe it get lower still at Lambi with MTL Dubstation 3 and guest Ondubground. 4465 St-Laurent, 10 p.m.

Sunday: Get thyself to the Hip Hop Café for Sunday Scratch Sessions, with DJs Brace, Manzo and Killa-Jewel welcoming the public to carve it up with them. 4801 Parc, 4-8 p.m.
When night rolls around, you can Keep It 100 at Bar Mme. Lee with Sagewondah, Truspin and JRMRKL selecting the plates. 151 Ontario E., 10 p.m.
On the live tip, Kalmunity Jazz Project holds weekly court at Resonance Café. 5175A Parc, 8:30 p.m., $8
And at Cabaret Underworld, Lil Dicky (yeah, a joke rapper, but not without skills) headlines with guests DJ Omega and Alaiz’s J.u.D. 1403 Ste-Elisabeth, 9 p.m., $15

Tuesday: Local up-comer and Cult MTL‘s October issue cover artist Pierre Kwenders launches Le Dernier Empereur Bantou with a free show at Phi Centre. 407 St-Pierre, 7 p.m., free
Wednesday: New Regime clothing launch their fall/winter collection at a secret location, TBA. MOTO Made curates the entertainment with Da-P, Noo-Bap, LaRue Music and Dave Luxe providing the soundtrack to your spending. 6-10 p.m.
