This week offers another full slate of vernissages along with ongoing exhibitions. If you’re not sure where to look first, check out our round-up of highlights:

If you didn’t make it to the opening festivities of the La Biennale de Montréal last week, or if you just didn’t see it all, there’s plenty there to explore. Our rundown of BNLMTL programming at the MAC and beyond can be found here.

Beyond the Biennale, this week’s big news is Thursday’s vernissage of a major exhibition of Pop Surrealism called Égrégore at Galerie Yves Laroche. When Juxtapoz magazine writes it up AND comes to town to view it in person, you know it’s going to be good. See our October print issue for a preview and interview with Yves Laroche assistant director Alexis Hranchuk. 6355 St-Laurent, Thursday, 5 – 9 p.m.

Also on Thursday, Under Pressure puts on a show in Verdun called Out for Fame, in which dozens of street artists from Montreal and beyond have created works that focus on graff style and lettering, within a common size and medium — paper works 50 x 70 cm. 4106 Wellington, Thursday, 6 – 11 p.m.

There are lots of vernissages going down on Saturday, but of particular note is Ground Control by Bill Finger at Visual Voice Art Gallery. This series of photographs speculate about how one might prepare to take a one-way trip to Mars, and the show marks a turning point for the gallery.
