At Just for Laughs’ outdoor site, the Fantasia film fest teams up with the comedy fest to present three Charlie Chaplin silent shorts under the stars. Vidéotron stage (Jeanne Mance btwn Ste-Catherine & de Maisonneuve), 9 p.m., free

At Fantasia’s homebase at Concordia, a promising thriller called The Harvest has its international premiere, hosted by director John McNaughton (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Wild Things). The film stars Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire, The Runaways), Samantha Morton (Control, Morvern Callar), Charlie Tahan (Blue Jasmine) and Peter Fonda (Easy Rider, etc etc). Down in the Place des Festivals, check out local comedian Mike Paterson’s Playhouse, where he’s showcasing other comic talent, performing with his metal band Iron LadeL & more. Loto-Québec stage (Ste-Catherine/Jeanne Mance), 10 p.m., free

At JFL’s alt-comedy side-fest, Zoofest, comedian DeAnne Smith and burlesque powerhouse Miss Sugarpuss team up for Stand Up Strip Down. Sparks will fly. Mainline Theatre (3997 St-Laurent), 11:45 p.m., $20
