Catch a theatrical life drawing workshop with Dr. Sketchy. Fringe Park (Corner of St-Laurent and Rachel) 6–9 p.m., free

 The Fringe Festival continues at venues around the city. A few of today’s highlights include early mid-life crisis comedy The Balding (Espace 4001, 4001 Berri, 6 p.m.), the multiple addictions of FIRE IN THE METH LAB (Cabaret du Mile End, 5240 Parc, 10:30 p.m.) and love-life anxiety in Verbal Diarrhoea (Mainline Theatre, 3997 St-Laurent, 6 p.m.).

The PHI Centre has an advance screening of the Richard Linklater film Before Midnight starring Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke. (407 St-Pierre), 7:30 p.m., $11.25

Cinéma 17 screens Jonathan Caouette’s Tarnation, an experimental, super low-budget documentary about growing up gay in Texas with a schizophrenic mom. Le Cagibi (5490 St-Laurent), 9 p.m., by donation

Minimalist composer, guitarist and trumpet player Rhys Chatham drops in for Suoni per il Popolo, playing alongside esteemed Brooklyn noiseniks Oneida and local openers Avec le soleil sortant de sa bouche. La Sala Rossa (4848 St-Laurent), 9 p.m., $13–$15
