Here’s how you can get into the picture this weekend:

FridayThe Franco Proietti Morph-Tet returns to the BBAM! Gallery for two sets featuring new tunes and a brand new tromboner in Chris Vincent. Show is from 9–11 p.m., so don’t spend too much time joyriding the metro.

Later on, kick it on up to the Blue Dog Motel for Naes & Ephiks’ De la Rap #4.

Saturday – K6A artists Axe & Bones host an “everything must go” canvas sale at le Belmont with Ménage de Primptemps. Get your art collection on to the sounds High Klassified, Sev Dee, Robert Nelson, Phil Sparz and Dorian Gray, and don’t forget to pick up this month’s print issue of Cult MTL to read my feature with “shroom-bap chillionaires” K6A.

For the live-show lover, the rhythmically raw MTL Hard Bop 5 take that sweet, sweet funk to Upstairs.

SundaySlum Village make a much-anticipated return to Montreal at Cabaret Underworld with local openers Journeymen, Alee & Big Bricc, DJ Overflow and more. ■
