The Empress Comedy Show is a comedy show of all Asian women stand-ups. The second edition is featured on Off-Just for Laughs!

You’ll see a line-up of comedians who’ve been featured on the Just for Laughs Discovery Series (Joanna Selvarajah), the Montreal Gazette’s Artist to Watch 2023 (Raajiee Chelliah), a Montreal Grand Finalist and web show host (Kayla de Leon), local headliner the hilarious Yumi Blake, cartoonist Andrina Learmonth and comedy queen Mariam Khan. 

Come out for this very special edition with new swag, new set design, and new additions to the lineup. 

We’re going to be joking around about whatever we want: Post-colonial politics, being an immigrant, not being an immigrant, Chairman Mao, being a dirtbag, the diaspora, church, drugs, white Buddhists, dating, people bowing to us, Japanese fascism, tokenism, hating America, kimchi, Covid racism, intergenerational trauma, the Spanish-American war; it’s all on the table.
