Highlighting Potential: Private Sector Investment in Emerging Markets

Highlighting Potential: Private Sector Investment in Emerging Markets

Thursday, Aug 24 , 9 a.m. to Thursday, Sep 14 , 5 p.m.

Emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs) account for 60% of global GDP and more than a third of global GDP growth. While there are important gaps to be addressed, the economic potential of these countries grows every year. Yet the way these countries are portrayed can often accentuate the gaps at the expense of telling the story of the potential.

As an organization that supports development through the private sector in emerging markets, FinDev Canada has been privileged to work with the private sector in these markets to harness the potential for growth and development.

Bringing visibility to the opportunities and the potential is an important part of mobilizing the private sector. But the same can also be said about taking the opportunity to challenge traditional perceptions of these markets. This public art exhibit portrays the diverse realities of Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean, FinDev Canada’s focus regions for the past five years. To achieve this, FinDev Canada partnered with The Everyday Projects and talented local photographers whose work offers an authentic depiction of their markets and clients.
