Dawson Colleges Professional Theatre Department Presents Eurydice
A love story that preserves through death.

Montréal, from September 20th – September 23rd the 2nd year students of the Professional Theatre Department at Dawson college will perform the 2003 contemporary retelling of “Eurydice”, by award winning playwright Sarah Ruhl, directed by Stefanie Buxton. “Eurydice” is a modern love story of two young people, Eurydice and Orpheus, deeply and profoundly in love, and separated by extraordinary circumstances. The Greek myth of “Orpheus” is transformed into an absurd, sharp and witty comedy, fresh in its modern adaptation, and is told through the perspective of our soulful and bright heroine, Eurydice. The audience embarks on an adventure into a utopian underworld full of magical elements, wonder, mystery and surrealism. The script is a creative outlet for young actors to explore themes of love and loss through movement, heightened emotions, impeccably timed humour, and touches of music, creating a captivating and immersive experience. Eurydice is an opportunity to see what it truly means for love to be personified.
