DISCOUNT WORKERS – Conversation with directors & special guests

DISCOUNT WORKERS – Conversation with directors & special guests

Monday, May 3 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

A textile factory fire in Karachi, Pakistan, kills over 260 workers, among them a widow’s only son. Saeeda’s transformation from domestic mother to influential activist brings her to the centre of a male-dominated workers’ rights movement. DISCOUNT WORKERS will take you on a journey along the supply chain of the fashion industry, and reveal that change may in fact be coming from those at its very end.

CONVERSATION: Join us for a live-stream conversation with directors Ammar Aziz and Christopher Patz, as well as Sohnia Karamat Ali (Comité d’Action de Parc Extension) and Mostafa Henaway (Immigrant Workers Centre). The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Mubbashir Rizvi.

SCREENING: DISCOUNT WORKERS will be available to stream (in Canada only) from Friday, April 30, 12 PM until Wednesday, May 5, 11:59 PM EST.
