Anarchists claim responsibility for Montreal police car fire

An anti-police statement was posted online.

UPDATED July 23: This morning La Presse reported that a group of anti-police anarchists has claimed responsibility for the police car fire that occurred in Montreal over the weekend. A surveillance camera captured three perpetrator setting the fire. The statement from the Montreal group, simply signed “anarchists,” was posted online, reading, in part “for a world without the police and without the white supremacist order that they defend.” The SPVM has not responded to the statement. On Sunday, La Presse reported that a dozen SPVM police cars in Montreal burned in the Plateau. This occurred in an SPVM parking lot on Iberville Street near the corner of St-Joseph Boulevard. Seven of the vehicles could not be salvaged.
