Mile Ex cultural space Never Apart hosts a vernissage for their fall exhibitions, featuring works from 14 local and international artists. Among the five exhibitions the group show are Le Culte by locals le Bled collective, plus the opening night of the first annual Montreal MAPP_MTL festival exploring new technologies and perceptions of mapping our geographies. 7049 St-Urbain, 6–10 p.m., free

St-Henri ethical and second-hand boutique la Gaillarde hosts a fashion show tonight combining vintage and new collections from local eco-designers carried by the boutique, as well as introducing the fall collection of 2016 contest winner Noémie Giasson. Concordia-based panel discussion series University of the Streets Café hosts a conversation on Progressive Homes, Radical Change. As part of this year’s Festival du nouveau cinéma, the Cinémathèque québécoise will screen the 1927 silent film Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans by F. W. Murnau with a live score by prominent French guitarist and composer Olivier Mellano. 335 de Maisonneuve E., 7 p.m., $10/$9 students

Turbo Haüs is hosting a fundraiser show for the Montreal SPCA to fight the city’s new pet regulations — specifically the breed-specific legislation that threatens to ban all sorts of dogs.
