Little Italy art space Galerie COA hosts a vernissage for a new exhibition of four large-scale frescoes by Brazilian artist collective Acidum Project, who will also be participating in this week’s Mural Fest activities. Tonight at les FrancoFolies, Nomadic Massive’s Vox Sambou has a solo project well worth checking out, with its trilingual lyrics and a style bridging hip hop and the sound of his ancestral land, Haiti. Hydro-Québec stage, de Maisonneuve & Jeanne Mance, 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., free

Is there a more classic goth band than the Cure? Robert Smith & co. play the Bell Centre with appropriately sad-bastard Scottish band the Twilight Sad. 1909 Avenue des Canadiens de Montréal, 7:30 p.m., $30–$94.50

The Phi Centre’s Cinéma Cabaret screening series hosts a nostalgic night with the 1986 brat pack hit Pretty in Pink starring Molly Ringwald and Harry Dean Stanton. 407 St-Pierre, 7:30 p.m., $11.75/$9.50 students

It’s a tough call between two solid Suoni per il Popolo shows tonight, with psych rockers King Khan and the Shrines taking the stage at la Sala Rossa with openers the Letouts (4848 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., $23/$20 in advance, all ages), while down the street Ought frontman Tim Darcy presents his recent experimental collaboration with AJ Cornell at la Vitrola with openers Belave (Devon Welsh of Majical Cloudz) plus Esther Bourdages (4602 St-Laurent), 8 p.m., $10/$8 in advance)
