Never Apart

Spend today’s hot afternoon in the relative coolness of the riverside Village au Pied-du-Courant at the foot of the Jacques Cartier bridge, complete with a sandy beach, food trucks, vendors, art installations, plenty of activities and tunes by DJs Asma and Kyou. 2100 Notre-Dame E., 1–11 p.m., free

If you haven’t checked out Never Apart yet, today might be the day. It’s the first anniversary of the Mile Ex art/party space, and they’re hosting a pool party in their backyard to celebrate, with music by Project Pablo, Sage Caswell, Jen Ferrer and Cooper Saver, plus a film screening and art exhibit. If you’re glued to your couch (or AC) today, you can even watch the party online here. 7049 St-Urbain, 39 p.m., $10

It’s time for the June edition of Open Michelle, the Comedy Nest’s monthly female-focused open mic night, with tonight’s edition featuring sets from Kate Conner, Melina Trimarchi, Lise Vigneault, Cara Weinberger (NYC), Annie Deschamps, Cameron Phoenix and Virginie Fortin. 2313 Ste-Catherine W., 8 p.m., $8/$5 students

Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter and multidisciplinary artist Scout Paré-Phillips drops into Bar le Ritz PDB for a performance of her dramatic, multi-textured neo-folk, with openers Blood and Sun (NYC), Brittsommar (Madison, WI) and locals l’Astre Sélène. 179 Jean-Talon W., 8 p.m., $10

Over in the Village, Bar Backstage hosts a dance party for a good cause, with tonight’s fundraiser for brand-new non-profit Flying Safe / Vol Plané, an organization providing harm reduction services and information to those who need it across Montreal’s festival, rave and club environments. Tonight’s line-up includes an art exhibition and dance party with DJs Woblz, Knox, Aphotik, Shigero and Galand b2b Nefelibata. 1661 Ste-Catherine E., 8 p.m., $3 before 10 p.m., $5 after
