Follow Mikey’s full-throttle third day of the Austin music festival, when he co-hosted M for Montreal showcases and parties with Brooklyn Vegan, Arbutus Records and Invisible Oranges and met up with some Stockton, CA legends (not Pavement, but close). Mikey B Trippin: SXSW round one

M for Montreal’s M for Mikey arrives in Austin, where he’s greeted by a bounty of tanned skin and butt cheeks, Dick Linklater vibes, Thurston “Thursty” Moore, bands galore and more molestation from the friendly 5-0.

The Top 30 MTL Songs of 2012

Here are the very best songs Montreal had to offer this year. This list is completely arbitrary and based on the whims of those who assembled it, as is the case with any list. Song preferences subject to the ever-changing moods of chief compiler/commentator Erik Leijon.

M for Montreal Day 1

M for Montreal revved into action last night with a sold-out showcase at la Sala Rossa, feat. Montreal’s Half Moon Run and Mozart’s Sister, plus former Montrealers Eight and a Half (you’ll recognize them as former members of the Stills). And across the street at Casa del Popolo, locals Blue Hawaii played to a delegates-only audience. See our gallery by Cindy Lopez.
