Award-winning Nova Scotian funeral director-turned-songwriter Terra Spencer and explosive special guest Ben Caplan are pairing up for one night only in Montreal to celebrate the release of their brand new joint album, Old News.

Doors at 6:30 p.m., with food & drink
Show at 8 p.m.

Written by Terra and produced by Ben, this collection of songs is a tender and cheeky portrait of the art of saying goodbye, captured with live-off-the-floor energy.

Terra Spencer has quickly caught the attention of audiences across Canada, the U.K. and Germany with her intimate songwriting, sharp wit and ’70s wood-paneled sound. Every show is a knee-to-knee conversation with a natural storyteller.

“The real deal.”

—Ron Sexsmith

International performer Ben Caplan is both the roar of the hurricane and the eye of the storm. His songwriting pulls from many diverse influences but both his music and his lyrics regularly draw from his Jewish heritage. Often mixing biblical imagery and klezmer-inflected melodies, Caplan re-appropriates ancient sounds and themes with a decidedly contemporary twist.
