Écrire, ça libère

Écrire, ça libère

Saturday, Dec 7 , 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hello,

We’d like to include our Great Writing Marathon in your « Events »/« What to do in Montreal ? » column for the month of December.

Description:

Amnistie internationale’s traditional Great Writing Marathon will be held on December 7 at the Center for sustainable development , in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles. It’s an opportunity to get together in a festive atmosphere to write messages of hope to unjustly imprisoned people around the world. Throughout the day, several dedicated personalities and artists will offer performances.

Every year-end, Amnistie rolls out its flagship « Écrire, ça libère » campaign, during which millions of letters are written by supporters around the world in support of those whose rights are being violated. And it works! Of the 169 people for whom we wrote as part of the campaign between 2000 and 2020, 127 were freed: that’s over 75%!

Where: Center for sustainable development
50, rue Sainte-Catherine W
When: Saturday, December 7, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Please do not hesitate to contact Maude Choquette at mchoquette@amnistie.ca if you require any further information.
