ARTASIA – the 5th edition of the cultural mediation series – Free event

Kabir Centre for Arts & Culture is pleased to invite you to Artasia – a special project dedicated to the demystification of South Asian classical arts. Its  objective is to ensure that all people interested may be enabled to understand their basics, with no pretensions to turn them into performers. 

These sessions will ultimately deal with every important element of the classical music and dance forms of South Asia: Carnatic, Hindustani, Qawwali, the eight officially recognized dance forms, the various musical instruments, interface with folk and world music.

They will be conducted in an interactive fashion by professional Canadian artists, who will explain the types of songs and dances and the instruments used.

The sessions can be adapted according to the interest shown by the audience.

Artasia’s sessions are presented during two weekends: September 10-11-17-18, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
