See South Korean coming-of-age movie Sunny at Ciné-Asie’s monthly event. The screening will be preceded by a flea market sale and a K-Pop dance workshop and performance. La Elástica (4602 St-Laurent, third floor), pre-show 6:30 p.m., film 7:30 p.m., $7/$5 students

The Skate or Die series continues with Hicks on Sticks, a documentary on a mythical 1999 cross-Canada skating tour. The PHI folks will also host a giveaway for a skateboard signed by one of the legendary Bones Brigade. PHI Centre (407 St-Pierre), 7:30 p.m., $10

As the RIDM documentary festival approaches, its monthly Docville series wraps up with Planet of Snail, an inspiring Korean doc about a disabled couple. Excentris (3536 St-Laurent), 7 p.m.

Don’t miss the third edition of This is Happening Whether You Like It or Not, a literary event/party with live music and readings by Steve Roggenbuck (!), Laura Broadbent and Guillaume Morissette, among others. The Elektra Festival presents an evening of audiovisual performances. Nohista will perform Layers, and acclaimed German raster-notion artist Byetone’s symeta will have its Montreal debut. PHI Centre (407 St-Pierre), 9 p.m., $20

Sample some bizarro rock ‘n’ roll in the form of helmeted singer/guitarist Bob Log III, with support from BA Johnston. Legend has it that Log’s super-fast hands are part simian! Il Motore (179 Jean-Talon W.), 9 p.m., $15
