The Skate or Die series continues with Hicks on Sticks, a documentary on a mythical 1999 cross-Canada skating tour. The PHI folks will also host a giveaway for a skateboard signed by one of the legendary Bones Brigade. PHI Centre (407 St-Pierre), 7:30 p.m., $10

As the RIDM documentary festival approaches, its monthly Docville series wraps up with Planet of Snail, an inspiring Korean doc about a disabled couple. Excentris (3536 St-Laurent), 7 p.m.

Don’t miss the third edition of This is Happening Whether You Like It or Not, a literary event/party with live music and readings by Steve Roggenbuck (!), Laura Broadbent and Guillaume Morissette, among others. Sample some bizarro rock ‘n’ roll in the form of helmeted singer/guitarist Bob Log III, with support from BA Johnston. Legend has it that Log’s super-fast hands are part simian! Il Motore (179 Jean-Talon W.), 9 p.m., $15
